What we do

Since 2024, Modern Joinery News has provided a dedicated platform for the UK’s joinery and timber industries.

From advances in CNC manufacturing and automation to developments in timber technology, sustainability, compliance, skills and training, there is plenty happening across the sector.

We have created an online media platform where people within the sector can easily find out what is happening in the sectors, discover new ideas and hear directly from the companies and individuals shaping our future.

We report on the latest developments across joinery, timber, woodworking, windows and doors, fenestration, manufacturing, machinery, hardware and the wider construction supply chain, while also giving a platform to the people and businesses that make the industry what it is.

The Modern Joinery News team

Modern Joinery News was formed by Founder Sarah Ball and Editor George Lewis in 2024 following years of experience within the fenestration sector.

George leads the editorial output for Modern Joinery News, covering industry news, features, events and interviews, while Sarah oversees the publication and its wider development.

In 2026, Rachael Lewis joined the team as Content Coordinator, working alongside George and Sarah to develop the publication’s content, while building on and developing new relationships with businesses and industry stakeholders.

Together, the team brings experience from across the glazing, fenestration, joinery and timber sectors, with a shared passion for showcasing the businesses, people and ideas driving the industry forward.
